Ingredients
A sweet, nutty, and refreshing smoothie. It is a quick, easy, and healthy recipe. This is a great way to incorporate walnuts into your diet, which help to provide such benefits as antioxidants and omega-3s. Enjoy a nice dose of protein and potassium from the yogurt and bananas. The almond milk adds a dairy free option, however, non-almondmilk can also be used, if preferred.
Directions
Add all ingredients to a blender. We started with the ice first.
Then we added the almondmilk.
- We used Blue Diamond Almond Breeze Unsweetened Vanilla (Dairy Free. Non GMO Verified).
For the yogurt, we just scooped out three heaping tablespoons, which was approximately 1 cup.
- We used Giant's brand of Greek Whole Milk Plain Yogurt (Gluten Free).
Next, add the walnuts.
- We used two big handfuls of Kirkland Signature Walnut Halves from Costco.
When we added the 2 bananas, we broke them up by hand so they would fit in the blender
Finally, we added about 1/4 cup of honey and mixed until all ingredients were blended together. Optionally sprinkle cinnamon on top, such as roasted cinnamon.
- We used Giant's brand of Wild Flower Honey (True Source Certified).
- We also used Kirkland's Signature Ground Saigon Cinnamon.
