These can be served as an alternative to cake at birthday parties, such as at children's parties, or weddings. It will be hard to eat just one.
Directions
Add the canola oil to a small to medium-sized pot. Heat on medium while you prepare the glaze and donuts.
Add the confectioners' sugar and water to a bowl, and mix together to make the glaze. It comes out to a 4:1 ratio, so if you want to add more or less, the ratio is 4 tbsp of confectioners' sugar to 1 tbsp of water.
- We used Giant's brand of Confectioners' Sugar Made with Pure Cane (Gluten Free. Non GMO).
We used a small bottle cap to push through the center of the uncooked biscuits to make the donut holes. A small round cookie cutter may also be used.
- We used one 8-count can of Pillsbury Grands! Flaky Layers Original Big Biscuits.
Place the uncooked donut holes into the pot, and cook them for 2 minutes, or until golden brown. Roll them continuously so they cook evenly on each side.
Similarly, add the rest of the dough into the pot, and cook for 2 minutes to fry each one.
Occasionally flip the dough in the pot to make sure each side cooks to a golden brown color.
After the donuts are cooked, add the glaze to each side.
