Ingredients
A warm and comforting meal. The oatmeal, raisins, peanut butter, and blueberries provide health benefits, such as fiber, which will help you feel full longer, protein and antioxidants. It smells so good after it cooks. It smells like Christmas with the addition of the eggnog. The eggnog adds creaminess, and a little sweetness to this dish. The peanut butter also contributes to the creaminess.
Directions
Pour the uncooked oatmeal into a bowl.
- We used Quaker Oats 100% Whole Grain Quick 1 - Minute Oats (Non GMO Verified. Good Source of Fiber. No Preservatives. No Artificial Flavors. No Added Sugar. No Added Colors).
Add the eggnog and stir together.
- We used 1/4 cup of the Maola Local Dairies Eggnog (Farm Owned) 1 quart bottle.
Place the uncooked oatmeal with the eggnog into a microwave, and heat for 1 minute.
Once heated, remove from the microwave and top with raisins.
- We used Giant's brand of California Seedless Raisins.
Then add the peanut butter.
- We used of Giant's brand of Creamy Peanut Butter (Non GMO Verified).
Finally, add the blueberries and mix together carefully. Since the blueberries came in a frozen bag, we just poured them in and didn't actually use our hands to grab them; however, the amount is approximately 1 handful. Add more or less to taste. Non-frozen blueberries may also be used instead.
- We used Giant's brand of Frozen Blueberries (Kosher).
Optionally sprinkle with nutmeg on top.
