Ingredients
This is an easy version of Poutine. We did not have cheese curds, but found that a variation of Poutine can include mozzarella cheese as an alternative if curds are unavailable. This dish smells so scrumptious. It cooks quickly and tastes amazing. It is the ultimate comfort food. Optionally try with pepper and garlic powder on top, and enjoy!
Directions
Preheat the oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit. Add the French fries to a baking sheet. We used an aluminum foil covered baking sheet.
- We used one bag of Giant's brand of frozen Original Shoe String French Fried Potatoes.
Add the gravy to a small pot and heat on low while the fries are baking, until the gravy is warmed. Stir occasionally.
- We used 3/4 or 13.5 wt oz of an 18 wt oz jar of Heinz Home Style Savory Beef Gravy.
Cut the string cheese sticks into small pieces, and set them to the side on a plate or in a bowl.
- We used Polly-O Mozzarella String Cheese.
Bake the fries for 8 minutes, remove from the oven, and flip the fries. Place back into the oven to bake for an additional 4 minutes. Then add the cheese and bake for another 6 minutes, or until the cheese has melted.
Add the gravy, and optionally top with garlic powder and pepper.
- We used Badia Ajo en Polvo Garlic Powder (Gluten Free).
- We also used McCormick Peppercorn Medley Grinder, which includes a mixture of black peppercorns, coriander, pink peppercorns, white peppercorns, allspice, and green peppercorns.
